RFID Tags

Custom RFID Tags for Identification, Tracking and Industrial Automation

RFID Tag Manufacturing for Real Operating Environments

RFID Tags connect physical assets, equipment and products to digital tracking systems without requiring direct line-of-sight scanning. A tag combines a chip, antenna and protective structure selected for the object, mounting surface and operating environment. RFID tags are used across inventory management, manufacturing, logistics, vehicle identification, tool control, laundry, access systems and outdoor asset tracking, where reliable data capture can reduce manual work and improve visibility.

SCIVAS operates its own RFID tag factory and brings 15 years of OEM & ODM experience to application-specific development. Our portfolio includes ABS, PPS, silicone, ceramic, PCB, epoxy and other encapsulated structures in LF, HF/NFC and UHF frequencies. Size, shape, chip, read range and mounting method can be customized together with adhesive backing, screw holes, cable ties, laser numbering, logo marking, UID or serial encoding and project packaging. The tag is selected around temperature, moisture, chemicals, impact, metal interference and expected service life rather than keywords alone.

Production is controlled through an ISO9001 quality management system, including incoming component checks, assembly, encoding, RF performance testing and final sampling. Applicable products can be supplied with CE and RoHS compliance documentation according to their configuration and target market. Through OEM/ODM customization, integrators and distributors can adapt existing designs or develop private-label tags for a defined read zone, housing requirement and installation process. This combination of manufacturing control and technical review supports consistent performance from pilot samples through repeat bulk orders.

What Are RFID Tags and How Do They Work?

RFID Tags are small devices that store data on an integrated circuit and communicate with readers through radio waves. When an RFID reader sends out a signal, the tag responds with its encoded information, allowing the system to identify the object to which the tag is attached. Depending on the frequency band and design, RFID tags can be read at close range for access control and item-level tagging, or at longer distances for asset tracking, logistics, warehouse automation and vehicle identification.

Types of RFID Tags We Offer

Industrial RFID tags for harsh and demanding environments

Our industrial RFID Tags include high temperature tags, rugged tags for machinery, on-metal RFID tags for pipes, tools and containers, and sealed tags for waste bins, concrete structures and underground markers. These tags are designed to withstand heat, cold, moisture, vibration and impact while maintaining stable read performance, making them ideal for manufacturing plants, utilities, construction sites and heavy-duty supply chains.

RFID labels, hang tags and tickets for retail and logistics

For retail, apparel and logistics applications, we supply thin and lightweight RFID label tags, garment swing tags, hang tags for bags and luggage, and RFID ticket formats for events and transportation. These solutions make it easy to integrate RFID into packaging, hangers and disposable media. If you need complementary consumables, you can also explore our dedicated RFID Labels, plastic RFID Cards and event-ready RFID Tickets to build complete RFID identification and ticketing workflows.

Special-purpose RFID tags for assets, vehicles and animals

We also provide specialized RFID Tags such as nail and bullet tags for wooden structures and pallets, bolt tags for equipment, ring tags for fuel tank tracking, cable tie tags for cables and hoses, security seal tags for tamper-evident logistics, tire and car tags for automotive identification, plant and tree tags for horticulture, and animal ear tags and pet ID tags for livestock and companion animals. Micro RFID tags and FPC tags are available when space is limited but reliable tracking and product authentication are required.

Main Applications of RFID Tags

With the right combination of reader, software and RFID Tags, you can automate stock counts, monitor tools and equipment, verify deliveries, manage returnable transport items and improve visibility across the supply chain. Typical applications include asset tracking in factories and hospitals, inventory management in warehouses and retail stores, access control and guard patrol systems, waste management, car park and gate control, luggage and baggage handling, library and file tracking, as well as animal identification and farm management. By choosing suitable tags for each surface and environment, you can reduce manual scanning, avoid errors and gain real-time insight into your operations.

FAQ About RFID Tags

What is the difference between LF, HF and UHF RFID tags?

LF RFID tags operate at low frequency and are often used for short-range applications such as animal ID and access badges. HF RFID tags, including NFC, are suitable for ticketing, library, contactless cards and item-level tagging. UHF RFID tags support longer read ranges and are widely used for RFID tags for asset tracking, inventory management, logistics and vehicle identification. We can suggest suitable tag types based on your project requirements and reading distance.

Which RFID tags should I choose for metal surfaces or harsh conditions?

For metal surfaces, we recommend dedicated on-metal RFID tags or specially designed industrial tags that include shielding and robust housings. These tags are engineered to perform well on steel tools, containers, racks and vehicles, even in challenging environments with vibration, dust, water or extreme temperatures. Our range includes ABS, ceramic, TPU and PVC constructions to balance durability, size and cost.

How do I select the right RFID tag for asset tracking and inventory?

When selecting RFID Tags for asset tracking and inventory, key factors include the surface material, available space, reading distance, environment, expected lifetime and mounting method. We typically start with the application (fixed asset tracking, mobile tool tracking, returnable containers or retail items) and then recommend suitable tag shapes such as hard tags, label tags, cable tie tags, ring tags or micro tags. Sample testing on-site is the best way to confirm which tags deliver reliable reads in your real environment.

Can you provide custom-printed and pre-encoded RFID tags?

Yes. We can supply RFID Tags with custom printing, serial numbers, barcodes or QR codes, and we can pre-encode EPC, user memory and lock settings according to your data structure. This helps you save time during deployment and ensures that the RFID tags arrive ready for integration into your existing systems, whether you are building a small pilot project or a large-scale rollout.

Are your RFID tags waterproof and suitable for outdoor use?

Many of our RFID Tags are sealed against water, dust and chemicals, with IP-rated housings that allow them to be used outdoors or in wash-down areas. Options include tags for waste bins, concrete, pipelines, vehicles and livestock. By matching the tag type to the specific exposure conditions, you can deploy RFID solutions that operate reliably in rain, mud, cleaning processes and other demanding outdoor environments.
